1) Currently, the Abilene,/Taylor County area of West Texas is being inundated with the construction of wind turbines. Certain areas south of Abilene are blessed with beautiful rolling hills, streams and unique views capes. Folks have been moving to the area for years because they have chosen a rural, ranching type lifestyle. They bought property. Invested significant amount of time, toil and energy to clear scrub foliage, erect fencing, build homes, barns and livestock pens. They have invested their lives creating their homesteads and raising families. Some have sold their city homes in other area of Texas to relocate here to retire in the country. That way of life is being destroyed by corporate greed.

2) Wind turbines exist because our Federal, State, and local governments provides huge tax credits, breaks, and abatements to ower companies because of the false belief that wind turbines benefit the environment, create jobs and boost local tax bases. One Florida Power & Light official even claimed under oath that turbines lessen out dependence on foreign oil.

Our litigation is intended to flush out these facts so that other communities can make informed decision. Wind turbines may make sense for your community but you should know that truth, not the sales pitch.

3) In the coming months, we will provide facts about wind turbines as we extract them during our litigation. For example, we have already established that FPL Energy, LLC had already made the decision to construct the Horse Hollow Wind Farm in Taylor County, Texas when it lobbied the Taylor County commissioner for a tax abatement.

Unfortunately, a majority of the commissioners chose to grant the tax abatement even though the project was already coming; they gave away tax revenue.
